| CVE-2025-38428 | 2 Debian, Linux | 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel | 2025-12-23 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: ims-pcu - check record size in ims_pcu_flash_firmware() The "len" variable comes from the firmware and we generally do trust firmware, but it's always better to double check. If the "len" is too large it could result in memory corruption when we do "memcpy(fragment->data, rec->data, len);" | ||||

| CVE-2024-35974 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-12-23 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix q->blkg_list corruption during disk rebind Multiple gendisk instances can allocated/added for single request queue in case of disk rebind. blkg may still stay in q->blkg_list when calling blkcg_init_disk() for rebind, then q->blkg_list becomes corrupted. Fix the list corruption issue by: - add blkg_init_queue() to initialize q->blkg_list & q->blkcg_mutex only - move calling blkg_init_queue() into blk_alloc_queue() The list corruption should be started since commit f1c006f1c685 ("blk-cgroup: synchronize pd_free_fn() from blkg_free_workfn() and blkcg_deactivate_policy()") which delays removing blkg from q->blkg_list into blkg_free_workfn(). | ||||
| CVE-2024-26710 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-12-23 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: powerpc/kasan: Limit KASAN thread size increase to 32KB KASAN is seen to increase stack usage, to the point that it was reported to lead to stack overflow on some 32-bit machines (see link). To avoid overflows the stack size was doubled for KASAN builds in commit 3e8635fb2e07 ("powerpc/kasan: Force thread size increase with KASAN"). However with a 32KB stack size to begin with, the doubling leads to a 64KB stack, which causes build errors: arch/powerpc/kernel/switch.S:249: Error: operand out of range (0x000000000000fe50 is not between 0xffffffffffff8000 and 0x0000000000007fff) Although the asm could be reworked, in practice a 32KB stack seems sufficient even for KASAN builds - the additional usage seems to be in the 2-3KB range for a 64-bit KASAN build. So only increase the stack for KASAN if the stack size is < 32KB. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not BUG_ON() on ENOMEM when dropping extent items for a range If we get -ENOMEM while dropping file extent items in a given range, at btrfs_drop_extents(), due to failure to allocate memory when attempting to increment the reference count for an extent or drop the reference count, we handle it with a BUG_ON(). This is excessive, instead we can simply abort the transaction and return the error to the caller. In fact most callers of btrfs_drop_extents(), directly or indirectly, already abort the transaction if btrfs_drop_extents() returns any error. Also, we already have error paths at btrfs_drop_extents() that may return -ENOMEM and in those cases we abort the transaction, like for example anything that changes the b+tree may return -ENOMEM due to a failure to allocate a new extent buffer when COWing an existing extent buffer, such as a call to btrfs_duplicate_item() for example. So replace the BUG_ON() calls with proper logic to abort the transaction and return the error. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/sti: Fix return type of sti_{dvo,hda,hdmi}_connector_mode_valid() With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. A proposed warning in clang aims to catch these at compile time, which reveals: drivers/gpu/drm/sti/sti_hda.c:637:16: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'enum drm_mode_status (*)(struct drm_connector *, struct drm_display_mode *)' with an expression of type 'int (struct drm_connector *, struct drm_display_mode *)' [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict] .mode_valid = sti_hda_connector_mode_valid, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ drivers/gpu/drm/sti/sti_dvo.c:376:16: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'enum drm_mode_status (*)(struct drm_connector *, struct drm_display_mode *)' with an expression of type 'int (struct drm_connector *, struct drm_display_mode *)' [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict] .mode_valid = sti_dvo_connector_mode_valid, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ drivers/gpu/drm/sti/sti_hdmi.c:1035:16: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'enum drm_mode_status (*)(struct drm_connector *, struct drm_display_mode *)' with an expression of type 'int (struct drm_connector *, struct drm_display_mode *)' [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict] .mode_valid = sti_hdmi_connector_mode_valid, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ->mode_valid() in 'struct drm_connector_helper_funcs' expects a return type of 'enum drm_mode_status', not 'int'. Adjust the return type of sti_{dvo,hda,hdmi}_connector_mode_valid() to match the prototype's to resolve the warning and CFI failure. | ||||

The code in raid_status reads mddev->private, casts it to struct r5conf and reads the entry max_nr_stripes. However, if we have different raid type than 4/5/6, mddev->private doesn't point to struct r5conf; it may point to struct r0conf, struct r1conf, struct r10conf or struct mpconf. If we cast a pointer to one of these structs to struct r5conf, we will be reading invalid memory and KASAN warns about it. Fix this bug by reading struct r5conf only if raid type is 4, 5 or 6. | ||||
