CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: thunderx: fix PTP device ref leak in nicvf_probe()
cavium_ptp_get() acquires a reference to the PTP PCI device
through pci_get_device(). If any initialization step fails
after cavium_ptp_get(), the PTP PCI device reference is leaked.
Add a common error path to release the PTP reference before
returning from probe failures. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/bridge: Fix unlocked list_del in drm_bridge_add()
When re-adding a bridge that was previously removed, drm_bridge_add()
drops it from bridge_lingering_list without holding bridge_lock.
Both bridge_list and bridge_lingering_list are protected by bridge_lock,
as they are concurrently modified by drm_bridge_remove() and
__drm_bridge_free(), and walked by the debugfs 'bridges' file. Running
the list_empty() test and the list_del_init() outside of the lock may
therefore corrupt either list.
Perform both under bridge_lock. |

| Unauthenticated Broken Access Control in PayPlug for WooCommerce (Official) <= 3.1.0 versions. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
namespace: check the mounts before reading their parents in pivot_root()
path_pivot_root() reads the parents of new_root and of the caller's root
and checks whether they are shared before it checks that either mount is
in the caller's mount namespace. Only namespace_sem is held. That's fine
for a mount that is in the caller's mount namespace.
But new_root can be a file descriptor to a mount that has been unmounted
and that only the file descriptor keeps alive. If that mount stayed
attached to its parent when it was unmounted nothing pins the parent for
it. The final mntput() of the parent unhooks the children under
mount_lock alone and frees the parent afterwards:
pivot_root() close(fd), last ref on the parent
------------ ---------------------------------
ex_parent = new_mnt->mnt_parent
mntput_no_expire_slowpath()
__umount_mnt(new_mnt)
cleanup_mnt()
call_rcu()
IS_MNT_SHARED(ex_parent)
BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in path_pivot_root+0xf1a/0x1840
Read of size 4 at addr ffff8881047382f8 by task pivot_widen/157
path_pivot_root+0xf1a/0x1840
__x64_sys_pivot_root+0x165/0x190
The same goes for the caller's root via chroot(). Both outcomes of the
check end in EINVAL so nothing but the read itself goes wrong. It's the
same thing commit bb4609405752 ("statmount: read the parent of an
unmounted mount under mount_lock") fixed for statmount().
Check that both mounts are in the caller's namespace before their
parents are read. Every path returns EINVAL either way. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
namespace: look at the topmost mount for a mount namespace file
attach_recursive_mnt() preallocates a mountpoint for the root of the
topmost mount of the source so that a mount that already sits at the
destination can be put on top of the source or on top of one of its
propagated copies.
The copies are made without CL_COPY_MNT_NS_FILE so their chain of
overmounts is shorter than the source's. It ends below the first bind
mount of a mount namespace file. So while the loop walks up the chain of
the source it remembers the mountpoint of that mount in "shorter" and
the existing mount is put there for the copies.
But the loop ends at the topmost mount without ever looking at it. If
the topmost mount is the only mount namespace file in the chain
"shorter" stays NULL and mnt_change_mountpoint() attaches the existing
mount of the copy below the root of the mount namespace file. That's a
dentry of nsfs. No path walk in the copy's mount namespace ever gets
there. The mount is gone until its parent goes and the copy that took
its place can't be unmounted synchronously because it has a child:
S bind mount of a file
N bind mount of a mount namespace file on top of S
A shared mount, B a slave of A, Q mounted on B/file
move_mount(S, A/file)
cat B/file -> the content of S instead of Q
umount B/file -> EBUSY
Look at every mount of the chain including the topmost one. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
namespace: check a submount for references right before unmounting it
shrink_submounts() and mark_mounts_for_expiry() first collect all the
mounts they are allowed to unmount and then unmount them.
Whether a mount is busy is decided by propagate_mount_busy() on the
tree. But unmounting the first mount changes the tree that the second
one propagates into. propagate_umount()
moves a surviving overmount off a copy it unmounts and mounts it where
the copy was mounted. If that's where the propagated copy of the second
victim is looked up the overmount becomes a candidate of the second
umount_tree(). It's childless and so trim_one() commits it without
looking at its reference count.
So a synchronous umount pulls out a busy mount that is in use somewhere
else and marks it MNT_SYNC_UMOUNT while it has users:
umount2(/tmp/plshrink/p1, 0) = 0 errno 0
cwd is (unreachable)
The same two umounts requested one after the other fail with EBUSY.
This needs a mount with MNT_SHRINKABLE, i.e., automounted submounts of
NFS, AFS and CIFS or the tracefs mount below debugfs. Bind mounts
inherit the flag.
Check each mount right before it is unmounted under the same hold of
namespace_sem and mount_lock as the umount itself. Make sure that the
algorithm stays linear. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
can: dev: init_can_skb(): restore skb header initialization
Commit 9f10374bb024 ("can: remove private CAN skb headroom infrastructure")
removed the skb_reset_mac_header()/skb_reset_network_header()/
skb_reset_transport_header() calls from init_can_skb(). As a result, RX
skbs from alloc_can_skb() and friends again carry mac_header = 0xFFFF.
When such an skb reaches packet_rcv_spkt() (SOCK_PACKET), the push length
calculation overflows and triggers skb_under_panic -> kernel BUG -> full
machine panic.
The same issue was originally reported in 2014 on linux-can and fixed by
commit 969439016d2c ("can: add missing initialisations in CAN related
skbuffs"). packet_rcv_spkt() itself has never been hardened: only
packet_rcv() and tpacket_rcv() gained dev_has_header() checks in
commit d549699048b4 ("net/packet: fix packet receive on L3 devices
without visible hard header"). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sched_ext: Fix CPU hotplug hang when a dying CPU's tasks sit in the BPF scheduler
A CPU going down has to empty its own rq. Its hotplug thread waits in
sched_cpu_wait_empty() until nothing else is left, and the only thing that
wakes it is balance_push(), which runs from __schedule() on the dying CPU
and pushes off the migratable tasks the CPU picks.
sched_ext breaks this. A task sitting on a user DSQ or held by the BPF
scheduler is still counted on its rq, but an inactive CPU no longer calls
ops.dispatch() and can't pull the task back. The dying CPU goes idle with
the task still counted, and one of two things happens:
- Another CPU consumes the task. The rq empties without a __schedule() on
the dying CPU, so the hotplug thread is never woken and cpu_down() hangs
holding cpu_hotplug_lock.
- The task is affine only to the dying CPU. Nothing can move it, and the
offline stalls until the watchdog ejects the BPF scheduler.
When the rq goes offline, re-enqueue every task on it that isn't already on
the local DSQ. An enqueue on an offline rq lands on the local DSQ, so the
dying CPU itself picks the tasks and balance_push() pushes them off, the
same as for the other sched classes. From then on no sched_ext path on
another CPU can pull a task off the rq.
ops.dispatch() currently stops as soon as the CPU goes inactive, and CPU
hotplug then waits for an RCU grace period before taking the rq offline. A
BPF-held task affine only to the dying CPU and preempted inside an RCU
read-side critical section would block that grace period, and the rq would
never go offline. Test SCX_RQ_ONLINE directly so that ops.dispatch() keeps
running until the rq goes offline. Only the dying CPU's own hotplug thread
clears the flag during teardown, and task_can_run_on_remote_rq() still keeps
other rqs' tasks off the CPU. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm-integrity: fix NULL pointer dereference when the 'R' flag is used
If the dm-integrity device has the SB_FLAG_DIRTY_BITMAP flag set and the
user activates the device in the 'R' mode, a crash in dm_integrity_resume
happens because the function attempts to read the journal containing the
bitmap.
This patch makes dm-integrity skip any writes to the device in
dm_integrity_resume if the device is activated in the 'R' mode. |
| An attendee authentication vulnerability in the email calendar processing of Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) allows an unauthenticated sender to forge another attendee's response to an existing meeting. Zimbra passes a null sender identity when processing iCalendar REPLY components, causing the attendee authorization filter to be skipped. An attacker who knows the meeting UID, organizer address and attendee address can send a non-outdated reply that changes the attendee's participation status in the organizer's calendar. The change occurs automatically during delivery without organizer or attendee interaction. ZCS 10.1.16 and 10.1.21 are affected. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
regulator: ltc3676: don't read the write-only HRST and CLIRQ registers
HRST (0x1e) and CLIRQ (0x1f) are write-only command strobes. Writing HRST
triggers a hard reset of the chip and writing CLIRQ clears the interrupt;
reading them returns nothing useful, and the read itself fires the command.
The result is that a plain register dump resets the board:
cat /sys/kernel/debug/regmap/2-003c/registers
walks every readable register, hits HRST, and the board reboots.
Split the callback back in two so HRST and CLIRQ stay writable but are no
longer readable. The readable range is left unchanged
(LTC3676_BUCK1 ... LTC3676_IRQSTAT). |
