| The HTTP Basic Authentication modules in ((OTRS)) Community Edition 6 and prior accept the authenticated username from either the REMOTE_USER or HTTP_REMOTE_USER environment variable. In CGI and mod_perl based deployments, HTTP request headers may be mapped to corresponding HTTP_* environment variables. As a result, an unauthenticated remote attacker can supply a crafted Remote-User request header which is exposed to the application as HTTP_REMOTE_USER. When HTTP Basic Authentication is configured as the authentication backend, OTRS trusts this value as an already authenticated username and does not perform an additional password verification. An attacker may therefore authenticate through the Generic Interface as an existing agent or customer user without knowing the corresponding credentials.
The resulting privileges depend on the account being impersonated. Successful exploitation may allow access to confidential information and modification of data or configuration with the permissions of the affected user. Exploitation requires HTTP Basic Authentication to be configured as an authentication backend and a web server environment in which attacker-controlled HTTP headers are exposed through the corresponding HTTP_* environment variables.
OTRS 7 and later are not affected by this attack vector due to the use of Mojolicious/Hypnotoad and does not expose arbitrary request headers through %ENV in the manner required for exploitation. The supported REMOTE_USER mechanism additionally requires validation through the configured SSO shared secret. The unused HTTP_REMOTE_USER fallback has nevertheless been removed as a security-hardening measure.
Please note that ((OTRS)) Community Edition 6.x and before are vulnerable. Products based on the ((OTRS)) Community Edition also very likely to be affected |
| An unauthenticated remote attacker can bypass authentication and gain full access to administrative API endpoints in Nutanix Prism Element by including a crafted internal management HTTP header. The vulnerability is caused by a misconfiguration in the application's authentication filters.
Consequently, the server responds with a Set-Cookie header containing a valid JSESSIONID. This session cookie decodes to a JSON Web Token (JWT) granting maximum cluster administrative privileges. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute root-level commands on all Controller VMs (CVMs) in the cluster, leading to complete cluster destruction and unauthorized access to VM memory and virtual disks. |
| Description
NGINX Gateway Fabric has a vulnerability when it is configured with Gateway
Custom Resource Definition (CRD) and have an authenticated gRPC connection with NGINX Agent. A namespaced
authenticated attacker with access to a service account may impersonate the authenticated NGINX Agent gRPC connection to read TLS private keys of Gateway deployments in another namespace.
Impact
A remote authenticated attacker may be able to read TLS private keys of Gateway deployments in another namespace.
There is no data plane exposure; this is a control plane issue only.
Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. |
| An authentication and authorization bypass vulnerability exists in F5 NGINX Kubernetes Ingress Controller (NIC) when configured with the `ExternalAuth` policy or Ingress external authentication. Client-supplied X-Forwarded-Prefix, X-Forwarded-URI, X-Original-URI, and X-Forwarded-Method routing and method headers are forwarded unsanitized into the internal authentication subrequest (handled by the NGINX auth_request directive). As a result, an unauthenticated, remote attacker may spoof request attributes evaluated by the external authentication provider.
Impact:
This vulnerability may allow remote attackers
unauthenticated
access to protected
paths. There is no control plane exposure; this is a data plane issue only.
Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. |
| The session-persistence implementation in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 mishandles session attributes, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and execute arbitrary code in a privileged context via a web application that places a crafted object in a session. |
| Frappe framework before 13.32.0 uses weak authentication for print view access, because the print view key can be derived from data exposed by other whitelisted API endpoints. Attackers can generate a valid key to view documents through the print view without proper permissions. |
| Payload is a free and open source headless content management system. In versions after 3.0.0 and before 3.90.0, a custom field option that maps a field to a reserved authentication claim name can place unintended values in the authentication token issued at login. This issue is fixed in version 3.90.0. |
| An authentication bypass and command injection vulnerability exists in the inter-switch remote execution service of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. When processing remote command execution IPC frames across the fabric, the receiving switch processes these commands at an elevated processing level without proper verification of transmitted parameters. This allows an attacker on a single fabric-connected switch to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary root commands locally or across other managed fabric members where remote execution functionality is enabled. |
| Authentication bypass by spoofing in ASP.NET Core allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| MOOS core-moos through 10.4.0 fails to validate client identity in MOOSDB message processing, allowing authenticated attackers to attribute writes to other clients by supplying arbitrary source identifiers in serialized messages. Attackers can forge message origins and cancel third-party subscriptions by exploiting the disconnect between authenticated connection identity and wire-supplied source attribution. |
| An authentication and access control bypass vulnerability exists in the web server management interface of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1. The web dispatcher routine evaluates internal management VLAN trust decisions using the client-supplied HTTP host header instead of the actual socket transport layer source IP address. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to bypass IP-filtering access control lists (ACLs) and obtain sensitive device metadata (such as model, serial number, hardware revision, and firmware version) without authentication. |
| curl 7.63.0 to and including 7.75.0 includes vulnerability that allows a malicious HTTPS proxy to MITM a connection due to bad handling of TLS 1.3 session tickets. When using a HTTPS proxy and TLS 1.3, libcurl can confuse session tickets arriving from the HTTPS proxy but work as if they arrived from the remote server and then wrongly "short-cut" the host handshake. When confusing the tickets, a HTTPS proxy can trick libcurl to use the wrong session ticket resume for the host and thereby circumvent the server TLS certificate check and make a MITM attack to be possible to perform unnoticed. Note that such a malicious HTTPS proxy needs to provide a certificate that curl will accept for the MITMed server for an attack to work - unless curl has been told to ignore the server certificate check. |
| An exploitable denial-of-service vulnerability exists in Systemd 245. A specially crafted DHCP FORCERENEW packet can cause a server running the DHCP client to be vulnerable to a DHCP ACK spoofing attack. An attacker can forge a pair of FORCERENEW and DCHP ACK packets to reconfigure the server. |
| Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. In versions 1.0.0 through 2.3.0, when an administrator enables the per-provider `emailfallback` option on an OpenID Connect provider, Vikunja links an SSO login to a pre-existing local (username+password) account using only the `email` claim from the IdP. The fallback never checks an `email_verified` (or Microsoft `xms_edov`) signal and never requires the matched account's password. An attacker who can obtain a token from the configured issuer carrying a victim's email logs in as that victim with a full session, with no consent or interaction from the victim. Version 2.4.0 fixes the issue. |
| The OpenText™ (EnCase SAFE Agents) component utilized by OpenText™ Endpoint Investigator, OpenText™ Endpoint Forensics & Response, OpenText™ Information Assurance, and OpenText™ Endpoint Security contains a security vulnerability on the Agents that could allow unauthorized or unauthenticated activity that establishes an unauthorized connection to a vulnerable Agent by bypassing intended security controls during session establishment |
| An authorization logic vulnerability exists in the Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 REST API gateway. The internal gate guarding restricted management endpoints relies exclusively on client-controlled HTTP headers. An authenticated user with any valid REST session can spoof these headers to gain unauthorized access to internal management endpoints. This allows low-privilege users to view sensitive chassis metadata, hardware memory patrolling state, and firmware integrity audit logs. |
