CVSS v3.1 |
| FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to versions 16.0.10 and 17.0.5, a critical vulnerability exists in the sound language upload and conversion functionality that allows an authenticated attacker to perform arbitrary file writes, leading directly to remote code execution (RCE). Authentication with a known username is required. The vulnerability stems from insufficient path sanitization in the file conversion process, enabling path traversal attacks that place malicious PHP files in the web server's root directory. This issue has been patched in versions 16.0.10 and 17.0.5. |
| FreePBX is an open source IP PBX. Prior to versions 16.0.72 and 17.0.7, a critical vulnerability exists in the FreePBX backup Module that allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code on the server. Authentication with a known username that has sufficient access permissions and/or write access to backup files is required. This vulnerability is caused by improper path sanitization in the backup restore functionality, enabling attackers to upload malicious PHP files to the web root directory. This issue has been patched in versions 16.0.72 and 17.0.7. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in hexpm hex allows a malicious package publisher to delete a directory outside the project's deps directory and extract package files into it when a developer fetches dependencies.
A package release's requirements carry an app label that names the dependency's OTP application. Hex takes this label from the repository's signed registry and uses it as the dependency's application name without validating it (Hex.RemoteConverger.deps/2, Hex.Mix.to_lock/1). Mix derives the dependency's checkout directory as deps/<app>, and Hex.SCM.update/1 runs File.rm_rf!/1 on that directory and unpacks the package into it. hex.pm only checks the label's length, so a publisher can set it to a value such as ../../target. When a project depends on such a release directly or transitively, mix deps.get or mix deps.update deletes the directory the label resolves to and writes the labelled package's files there. This happens before any dependency code is compiled.
This issue affects hex: from 0.6.0 before 2.5.2. |
| A flaw was found in WildFly. A user with the `Monitor` role, which is the lowest standard Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) role, can exploit a path traversal vulnerability in the `take-snapshot` operation. By manipulating the `name` parameter, this user can write a copy of the server configuration to an arbitrary location. This allows the `Monitor` role to read back the server configuration, including sensitive credentials, which would otherwise be restricted by RBAC, leading to information disclosure. |
| IBM WebSphere Application Server - Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 26.0.0.9 could allow a local attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could use a specially crafted application archive to write files outside the intended directory. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in gleam-lang gleam allows a malicious package publisher to delete a directory outside the project's build directory when a developer builds a project.
A Hex package release's metadata carries an app field with the release's OTP application name. Gleam reads this field from the hex.pm release API when it downloads dependencies and uses it as the package's build directory name without validating it (hex_manifest_package in compiler-cli/src/dependencies.rs, ProjectPaths::build_directory_for_package). When a dependency fails to compile, Gleam deletes that directory with remove_dir_all. hex.pm didn't restrict the field to a directory name before 2026-10-12, so a publisher could set it to a value such as ../../../../target or an absolute path. When a project depends on such a release directly or transitively and the release fails to compile, gleam build, gleam check, gleam run, gleam test or gleam export deletes the directory the name resolves to. For a pure Gleam package no publisher code runs.
This issue affects gleam: from 0.32.4 before 1.19.2. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in erlang rebar3 allows a malicious package publisher to delete a directory outside the project's _build directory and extract package files into it when a developer fetches dependencies.
A package release's dependencies in a Hex registry carry an app field that names the dependency's OTP application. rebar3 uses this field as the dependency's name without validating it (rebar_packages:parse_deps/1) and builds the dependency's directory from that name (rebar_app_utils:dep_to_app/7). rebar_fetch:download_source_online/2 deletes that directory with rm -rf and moves the fetched package into it. hex.pm didn't restrict the field to a directory name before 2026-10-12, so a publisher could set it to a value such as ../../../../target. When a project depends on such a release directly or transitively, rebar3 get-deps deletes the directory the name resolves to and writes the dependency's files there. This happens before the dependency's own rebar.config.script is evaluated, and get-deps compiles nothing.
This issue affects rebar3: from 3.7.0-rc1 before 3.27.2. |
| Hugo from v0.84.0 before v0.167.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows malicious themes or modules to read files outside the project root via ESBuild's fallback resolver in js.Build, js.Batch, and css.Build. Attackers can ship relative imports or symlinks pointing outside the project to bundle any file readable by the build user into published JavaScript or CSS output. |
| Path traversal in Samsung Flow prior to version 4.9.22.1 allows local attackers to access clipboard data. |
| The Debloat – Remove Unused CSS, Optimize JS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.0 via the 's' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. Exploitation requires that the site administrator has enabled the Optimize CSS feature (with the default Inline Google Fonts option active), but once that condition is met the attack is trivially triggered by an unauthenticated visitor with a single crafted GET request to the public search URL. |
| A path traversal vulnerability has been reported to affect Video Station. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to read the contents of unexpected files or system data.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version:
Video Station 5.8.8 and later |
| The Tainacan plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.0 via the 'guid' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. This vulnerability is exploitable only when the uploads/tainacan directory does not exist on the server, as this condition causes realpath() to return false, collapsing the base path to an empty string and rendering the containment check ineffective. |
| Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 3.9.1, the @backstage/plugin-catalog-backend package is affected by inconsistent enforcement of allowed location types during catalog processing. Under certain configurations, the catalog backend could process location types that were not intended to be allowed, potentially leading to unintended file access on the backend host. This issue is fixed in version 3.9.1. |
| A flaw was found in the Netfilter subsystem in the Linux kernel. The issue is in the nft_byteorder_eval() function, where the code iterates through a loop and writes to the `dst` array. On each iteration, 8 bytes are written, but `dst` is an array of u32, so each element only has space for 4 bytes. That means every iteration overwrites part of the previous element corrupting this array of u32. This flaw allows a local user to cause a denial of service or potentially break NetFilter functionality. |
| Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.3.25, the @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown package is affected by improper input validation in confluence to markdown scaffolder module. Insufficient input validation in the Confluence to Markdown scaffolder module could allow an attacker to influence file write operations during template execution. Exploitation requires a Backstage user to run a template that processes attacker-influenced Confluence content. This issue is fixed in version 0.3.25. |
| Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.3.25, the @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown package is affected by improper repository path validation in a scaffolder backend module. An authenticated user who can execute an affected template and control its repository file location may cause generated content to be written outside the task workspace, within locations writable by the Backstage backend process. This issue is fixed in version 0.3.25. |
| Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Visual Studio Code allows an authorized attacker to disclose information over a network. |
| A flaw was found in the ContentRepositoryImpl.copyExplodedContent function of the wildfly-core library, which is used by WildFly and JBoss EAP to manage server deployments. The issue occurs when the library processes an unsanitized deployment name. Due to a missing containment check, an attacker with the Deployer RBAC role can use path traversal sequences to access files outside the restricted deployment directory. This can allow the attacker to delete arbitrary directories or create files with arbitrary content, leading to a full privilege escalation to the management SuperUser role. |
| Dell Unisphere for PowerMax vApp, version(s) 9.2.4.x, contain(s) an Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Information disclosure. |
| Progress MarkLogic Server 12.x releases before 12.1.0 and 11.x releases before 11.3.7 allow an authenticated Query Console user to supply unsafe path values to a privileged filesystem helper, which could result in disclosure of arbitrary server files. |
